Combined Chelsea And Arsenal XI This Season: 8 Blues And 4 Gunners In The Team

Share

With Arsenal set to host Chelsea this weekend in what is to be the biggest clash of the weekend and a match that could decide the fate of the title as the top two go head to head to determine who leaves this battle between the two London clubs on top. Both clubs have hit form at the right time of the season, well maybe it is a little too late to change the destiny of the title but a win for Arsenal could make things interesting going into the last 4 games of the season. Two clubs, 22 amazing players, we look at a combined 11 from the sides.

Goal Keeper And Defence

Thibaut Courtois

No real doubt about which team has the better goalkeeper, Courtois has been spectacular at Chelsea and despite him being so young, he has a lot of experience since he has played a lot of games for Atletico Madrid and should be the goalkeeper out ahead of Ospina.

Branislav Ivanovic

ivanovich

Again another player who has made his mark this season, Ivanovic is the best right back in the country right now and there is no one who could usurp him from this position.

Laurent Koscielny

Not many great central defenders are on show between the two teams, but Koscielny has been a rock for Arsenal and sneaks ahead of Cahill in this combined XI.

John Terry

Age has been no bar for Terry and he is in this team not because of his experience but his form and ability even at this age of 34.

Cesar Azpilicueta

The best defender according to Jose Mourinho, Cesar has not allowed Filipe Luis to get into the team and he also makes the cut for this combined XI.

Midfield and Attack

Nemanja Matic

It was tough to choose between Matic and Coquelin, Coquelin has enjoyed a superb season but Matic wins this position just because he has played more games and has been a major influencer for this Chelsea team.

Cesc Fabregas

Well, this might be a bit of a weird feeling, he has played for both clubs and well this season has been special for Fabregas, well at least he would be making this team basis his first half season performance, still he has had a great season for the blues.

Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez

A new country,  a new team, a new style of play but class and quality always speaks through and that is exactly what Sanchez has shown this season. His goals and assists have helped Arsenal and that big money signing has worked brilliant for them.

Eden Hazard

Probably the player of the season, how can any team not have the brilliant Belgian? No team can be complete without him and well, here he is.

Olivier Giroud

To start the forward line-up, we would go with Olivier Giroud who has scored goals this season, well at least a good number of goals. He might not be as prolific as the top scorers this season, but he has scored crucial goals and is hitting the right strides come the end of the season.

Diego Costa

Cesc

To go with the guile and finishing of Giroud, we need someone who is a brute ad can harry the opposition. Diego Costa has scored goals also this season and would be the perfect foil for this combined XI and for Giroud to play alongside.
