Chelsea’s Ambitions For The 2012/13 Season – What Can Jose Mourinho Do?

Share

All the talk has been about the return of the special one or “The happy one” but what do Chelsea fans expect from Jose Mourinho this season. All Chelsea fans remember what Jose did in his first season winning the Premier League in his first season 2004-2005 first for the club.

Jose Mourinho lifting premier league trophy in 2005

So what are the ambitions for the new season. It is obvious Chelsea brought back Jose hoping he could repeat his success and win the Premier League again in his first season. Since he left in 2007 Chelsea have not been as strong in the premier league only winning it once, in 2009/10 season under Carlo Ancelotti and have struggled since finishing 2nd in 2010/11 where they were 9 points of the champions Manchester United in 2011/12. Things got worse for the blues as they finished their worst position ever while owned by Roman Abramovich as they finished in an unlikely 6th place where they finished 25 points off Manchester City, but still qualified for the Champions League as they defeated Bayren Munich 1-1 after extra time 4-3 on penalties to Chelsea.

During the 2012/13 season they things looked bright for Chelsea as they started off strong in the premier league and soon Roberto Di Matteo was sacked after a poor run which left Chelsea struggling in the Champions League and 2nd in the Premier League. Fans protested as they loved Roberto as he played for Chelsea in his career and things got worse for the fans when Rafa Benitez was appointed Interim manager until the rest of the season . Fans protested during games and booed the interim one has he said bad things about Chelsea during his spell at Liverpool. He failed to get Chelsea to the knockout stages of the Champions League as they finished 3rd behind Juventus and Shakhtar Donetsk He redeemed himself winning the Europa League and finishing 3rd place in the premier league but the club finished 24 points behind the champions Manchester United.

JOSE MOURINHO RETURNING TO CHELSEA FOR A SECOND SPELL AS MANAGER

I’m sure Jose will be a little bit confident on the inside on winning the Premier League again with the depatures of Sir Alex Furgeson and Roberto Mancini with David Moyes and Maunuel pellegrini coming in respectively. David Moyes did a great job with Everton with little resources and Pellegrini is coming in after a great run in the Champions League with Malaga . David Moyes will have pressure on him to live up to what Alex Furgeson did at old Trafford and Pellegrini will have to adjust to the style of the Premier League. Apart from the Premier League Jose will also have his eyes on the Champions League as he failed to win it in his first spell with Chelsea. With the team winning it in 2012 Jose hopes the new boys coming in will make the team even hungrier to win it again. He will also be looking at winning the League Cup and Fa Cup as Jose takes every competition very seriously and fields the best team he can possibly in these games.

So will he do it , I believe he will repeat his success and win the Premier League again and he will push the squad at the end and win the champions League for the club for the 2nd time in their history and the 3rd time in his own career as a manager.
