Chelsea Target Demands Crucial Talk With The Club Before Making The Move To Stamford Bridge

Share

Chelsea needs to purchase strikers this summer. Note the plurality. After the departure of Pato, Falcao and Remy heavily linked with a move away from the club, the Blues will run short of strikers in the team, especially considering Conte’s favorite formation is 3-5-2.

One player who was favorite to join Chelsea has been Romelu Lukaku of Everton. However the deal could not be finalized as the Toffees demanded an insane £75 million for the Belgian. Chelsea sold Lukaku to Everton two years ago for a fee of £28 million and were willing to pay up to £30 million to sign him back. However the Everton management had something else in their mind and the insane demand saw Chelsea back out of the deal and sign Michy Batshuayi instead.

This hardball negotiation from Everton has obviously annoyed Lukaku and in his post match interview after Belgium’s exit from Euro 2016 he said, “I need to talk to the club”. Now that sounds like some serious discussion.
