Chelsea are looking to bring in former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan from the Chinese side Shanghai SIPG, according to the reports.
The player was a record signing for Sunderland in 2010, however, he failed to make a mark at the Stadium of Light.
According to the reports from the Chronicle Live, the Chinese club is looking to sell the 30 year old player this summer and Chelsea are looking to sign him in.
After a dismal season the Blues are in the market for a striker as Diego Costa’s future at Chelsea is uncertain and Radamel Falcao and Alexandre Pato failed to impress the Stamford Bridge board.
According to the reports the Blues will surely ask the player to lower his wages which is currently £227,000 per week. While it is not possible for a player to change a club in reduced wages it seems further elusive that Antonio Conte will be looking to sign the player in the first place.
