Should Chelsea Sell This Talented Trouble Maker In This Window?

Share

It’s always a shame when a great moment gets eclipsed by issues outside of the field, as what it seems like a dream could become a nightmare in the blink of an eye if you mess with a team’s chemistry in their locker room.

This kind of situations gets even worse when egos get involved in this kind of issues, as some guys feel like they can do anything they can just because they’re one of the biggest stars in the club, disrespecting their institution, their teammates and their bosses.

One guy who has always been stealing headlines is the polemic striker Diego Costa, as when he’s not scoring goals, he’s getting involved in some trouble due to his big mouth and apparent lack of brains, becoming a very difficult guy to control both inside and outside the pitch.

Since the start of the season, there have been several reports that state that the relationship between Chelsea’s new boss Antonio Conte and Diego Costa isn’t very good at all, and there were some big rumours that pointed that the Spaniard could be on his way out of the club with the arrival of Michy Batshuayi.

Nevertheless, Costa got off to an amazing start of the season, recording 14 goals and 5 assists and becoming the Premier League leading scorer, while the newcomer struggled mightily to make an impact due to the lack of consistent playing time.

However, it seems like the striker had yet another big argument with Conte and that the situation has just aggravated, so the rumours of Costa’s departure have started once again, but, should Chelsea actually let him go at this stage?

Costa has constantly proven his value despite not getting off to a great start during his Chelsea tenure, and he repeatedly has stated that he would love to go back to Spain to play for Diego Simeone and his Atletico de Madrid.

The 28-year-old has become one of the most lethal strikers in the world this year, and he’s one of the hottest players right now with that amazing goal scoring streak he is having right now. However, he’s also shown that he can cool off as fast as he gets hot and that he tends to be a huge troublemaker when things don’t go his way.

It feels like the only guy capable of controlling Costa is Simeone, as his ego and lack of discipline tend to distract him from his amazing conditions and it feels like it’s just a matter of time before he does something stupid at Stamford Bridge.

So, Chelsea should let him walk away right now, as his value won’t go any higher than it is at the moment, and they already have a more than capable replacement in Batshuayi, who just needs time to prove his value at West London.

And, if Conte still isn’t convinced about the Belgian and what he can bring to the table, you know money isn’t an issue for Roman Abramovich, and considering that Diego Costa won’t go at a low price, they could still lure any big striker they want to be the Spaniard’s replacement.
