Chelsea Round Up: Shock £20m January Exit, Thibaut Courtois Replacement

 

The Blues’ manager Antonio Conte is reportedly prepared to sanction the exit of Brazil midfielder Oscar during the January transfer window.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder has lost his place in the team due to the switch in formation used by the Italian manager and reports from Italy suggest that Inter Milan are looking to take Oscar to the San Siro. Oscar’s club contract with Chelsea expires in 2019; a fee of around £20million is set to be agreed upon the exit, the same amount that was asked for when Chelsea purchased Oscar from Internacional in 2012.

Along with Oscar, team-mates like Cesc Fabregas, Branislav Ivanovic and John Obi Mikel are being allowed to leave as Conte looks to add in four new midfield faces to the club.

A move for Chelsea club captain, leader, and legend John Terry is also on the cards. The 35-year old has been linked with a move to Shanghai SIPG where the skipper will reunite with former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas.

Villas-Boas apparently fell out of favor with Terry while at Chelsea but is looking to bury the hatchet and start afresh and even make the deal done quicker if the captain can switch sides in January.

The Chinese club is pleased to wait until the end of the season as Terry’s contract expires in June next year and another short-term deal seems unlikely given the Englishman’s age and place in the team.

In other news, reports suggest that Chelsea are keen on signing 17-year old sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma as they prepare a bid for the impressive young starlet.

A battle is on with AC Milan as the Italian club wants to keep down their goalkeeper but the Blues are set to offer him a substantial pay rise in a new deal.

A £65,000-a-week offer awaits Donnarumma at West London where he would likely become Chelsea’s No 1 keeper with Thibaut Courtois wanting a move back to the Spanish league. If the latter seems to happen, the Milan board will have almost no chance of keeping back their future superstar.
