According to the dailystar, Aston Villa are preparing to meet Chelsea’s £7 million valuation for the former Newcastle man Demba Ba as they fear Christian Benteke would leave Villa park ineveitably. With a host of clubs including Chelsea vying around for the Belgian International’s signing, the player’s transfer request earlier this week has clearly revealed his intentions to leave the club just after joining them a year ago from Genk.
This will come as a major blow for the Villans as the trio of Benteke, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann helped them to cross waters after what was a horrible season. Albeit, if Benteke does leave the club in the summer, the reported £25m should boost their transfer kitty and spending £7m on Ba, who had a wonderful time when at St. James Park is not a bad idea.
