Chelsea Latest Including: Winger Target Victim Of A Kidnapping Attempt And Gary Neville’s Vote For The Blues

Armindo Tué Na Bangna, commonly known as Bruma, the 18-year old teenager from Portugal, has featured in the headings of transfer news recently. If reports are to be believed, he is being monitored by Premier League side Chelsea and Turkish giants Galatasaray.

He burst onto the scene in the later part of last season and following his exploits with the Portugal U-20 team in the world cup, the competition for Bruma has grown fierce with both the Manchester clubs joining the Blues in pursuit of the youngster.

The youngster’s agent, Catio Balde, told Antena 1:

There are offers from foreign clubs, from Chelsea and from Galatasaray, worth €8m, that could reach €12m (£10.3m).From this moment on, considering that he is a highly coveted player, it is possible that more offers will arrive, because I know that several clubs were waiting for the best moment to make a move.”

This season Chelsea have shown some intentions to build a side with a future perspective and they have acquired André Schürrle and Marco van Ginkel with that in mind. The bid for Bangna (Bruma) would only take that objective forward with the player capable of serving the Blues for a long time to come.

In what has been a breath taking 6 months for Bruma, the latest twist in his fairy tale is a bizarre attempt by some of the Sporting Lisbon faithfuls to kidnap him after allegedly getting angry on the player’s desire to leave the club.

Following the incident, Bruma’s agent, Catio Balde, was quoted as telling Antena 1:

“Last night there was an attempted kidnap of Bruma by Juve Leo at the hotel where he lives. We have registered a complaint with police and we have been informed it was done at the behest of Sporting’s management. We have pressed charges. This is a very serious and unpleasant matter, and it led to this decision.”

In another news, former Manchester United player, a legendary member of Fergie’s fledglings, Gary Neville, has casted his vote to Chelsea as the possible winner of EPL this season.

“You wouldn’t want to fall too far behind a Mourinho team because they would have the nerve to withstand the pressure.”, reported by the Guardian. Neville, a Sky Sports expert, has won eight titles in his 19-year United career before retiring in 2011.

It came as a surprise to many as Gary Neville is one considered as one of the most hardcore United loyalist who has always lent his support behind the Red Devils. Neville has been a United legend in his own rights and been a fan favourite throughout his career. This season his brother, Phil Neville, also a former United man has joined the team as a backroom staff for new manager David Moyes and it is presumable that Phil would not be too happy with his brother at the moment.
