Reigning champions of England, Chelsea travelled to the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, as they were keen on changing things around in the league, after a win mid-week in the Champions League. Blues’ boss Jose Mourinho was not with his team, as he was facing a one match stadium ban and his assistants tried to take control of things and come up with a win. However, things got really messed up once again for the Blues, who were good in the game with their play, yet failed to produce a result once again. Chelsea did not score a single goal in the entire game, while Stoke took the lead in the 53rd minute of the game as Arnautovic scored the only goal of the game in the second half.
It was enough to give his side all three points on the night and put a dent in hopes that the Londoners had of recovering from this pathetic start to the season. With the west London side losing yet another game, the Portuguese manager will know that his side are in bottom half of the table at the moment and have failed to find any sort of consistency in their play.
Whether Mourinho will remain at Stamford Bridge or be sacked, is still not certain, as his team have produced the worst start ever by a defending champion, losing as many as seven out of the opening twelve games this term.
There will be some respite for the teams now, as they head into the international break which might give them time to recover from this disastrous start.
However, as Chelsea suffered yet another loss, here are some of the Twitter reactions of the fans after the game:
