Chelsea and Arsenal Star Included in the Top 5 Players of the Week

The third week of the Premier League is done and dusted and it is just one team that has set the bar with three wins from three games. Manchester City swept aside Everton by scoring two goals and they seem all set to continue their charge for a Premier League crown. Chelsea got their season back on track with a hard-fought victory over West Bromwich Albion. The game did have a subplot with Jose Mourinho playing new signing Pedro. The Spanish winger scored once and assisted one more to give Chelsea the win. It was a great performance by the winger and we look at five players over the weekend’s games who were brilliant for their teams.

Pedro

One game for Chelsea, one goal and one assist and countless chances created if any player wants to know how to make a grand entrance into a team or a league it is Pedro. The former Barcelona winger played out of his skin and was arguably Chelsea’s best player against West Bromwich Albion. He seems set to continue his great form and Chelsea would need that if they want to retain the title.

Petr Cech

The former Chelsea keeper was in fantastic form to help Arsenal get a draw against Liverpool. The goalkeeper has been criticised earlier for his performances but this time around he did well to keep out Coutinho when he pushed a shot onto the post and then somehow managed to save a Christian Benteke shot from point blank range.

Callum Wilson

The player of the week, easily, Callum Wilson was on fire against West Ham United and his hat-trick was the reason Bournemouth won their first ever game in the Premier League 4-3. The striker was in fine form and Bournemouth will hopeful that he can play this well in the upcoming weeks as they try to remain in the Premier League next season as well.

James Morrison

Morrison should have had a hat-trick in this game week as well, but he saw an early penalty saved by Thibaut Courtois. The attacker did score twice for West Bromwich Albion in a losing cause, but Tony Pulis should be happy with the performance and Morrison should kick on and get better as the season goes on.

Simon Mignolet

If Cech deserves to be in the list, so does Simon Mignolet, the Liverpool goalkeeper did brilliantly as well to keep out Olivier Giroud late in the game and also did well to save a couple of deflected shots. The Belgian has now kept three clean sheets for Liverpool and does look in good form for the rest of the season.
