Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich appointed ex-Liverpool and Inter boss Rafael Benitez as new interim manager back in November as Di Matteo was sacked. The 52-year-old Spaniard signed a six-month deal with the Blues when he took charge much to the displeasure of the Chelsea fans who protested during match days with ” Rafa Out” posters all over Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea failed to win during their first three matches under Benitez, however they have since recorded three consecutive victories in the Premier League And the manager has just earned some faith from the fans.

According to the reports from The Sun, sources inside Stamford Bridge’s corridors of power say the Spaniard is on course to become ‘Rafa the Gaffer’ full-time after some superb results. Abramovich has been impressed with Blues’ six wins in their last seven games, in which they hit 26 goals and reached the Capital One Cup semi-finals and Roman Abramovich is considering offering the former Liverpool boss a new long-term contract.
