According to a report in Scotsman, Scottish champions Celtic are in the race to sign Everton winger Yannick Bolasie before the Scottish transfer window deadline.
The Congo international has already rejected a move to CSKA Moscow, but Turkish side Besiktas and French side Rennes are in the race to sign him. (h/t Scotsman)
Bolasie, whose long-term injury concerns stalled his progressed at Everton since joining them from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2016 for £25m, plied his trade on loan at Aston Villa for the first half of last season, and at Anderlecht for the remainder of the season.
On the other hand, Celtic, who haven’t yet added to their forward line during this transfer window, could well do with a signing or two in any of the forward positions before the deadline day.
Here’s why signing Bolasie could help them become a force not just in the league, but also in Europe:
Yannick Bolasie is a versatile forward player who prefers to play on either wing, but he is also comfortable operating as a centre-forward or as a support striker.
During the course of last season, he played for Aston Villa and Anderlecht on a short-term basis, scoring a combined 8 goals and supplied 8 assists in 38 appearances.
Keeping those numbers in mind, it is clear that the Congo international has improved his game over the course of the last 12 months. With long-term injuries now a history, he could do with more game time this season.
For that reason, he shouldn’t hesitate moving to Celtic if the chance presented itself. From the club’s point of view, they wouldn’t be wrong to add Bolasie to their squad before the deadline day. His direct approach play in the wide areas could help them in the league and European games.

Thus, we can conclude by saying that Neil Lennon’s men shouldn’t think twice about the possibility of signing Yannick Bolasie this summer as he could help them retain the league title once again.
