Celtic FC News: According to the Daily Mail, David Moyes is a contender to replace Brendan Rodgers if the Northern Irish manager opts to leave Celtic.
Rodgers was linked with Leicester City as soon as Claude Puel got dismissed from his managerial role (h/t Daily Mail).
The Frenchman saw his side struggle with seven defeats out of the last nine games before he was let go.
Now, the former Manchester United manager, David Moyes, has emerged as a surprise candidate for the Scottish club if Rodgers makes a return to the Premier League.
The former West Ham manager had been contracted by the Hoops early on too.
Moyes even played as a central defender for the Hoops from 1980 to 1983.
Having spent his managerial spells at various clubs, his longest was with Everton which spanned nearly twelve years.
Moyes took over the managerial role of Sir Alex Ferguson and couldn’t emulate the same set of results when compared to the legendary Scot at Manchester United.
Rodgers joined the Scottish side back in 2016 and has led the side to two trebles in consecutive seasons and has set his eyes on a third.
The Hoops are currently leading the Premiership table with still a match to be lost domestically in 2019.
