Can This Young Portugese Starlet Break Into The Manchester United’s Starting XI If He Moves To England?

Transfer rumours are always present and they involve players which you like or maybe even not. Some transfer revolve around speculation and over time some rumours do get a firm grip and become strong such as the rumour involving Renato Sanches and Manchester United. So to begin with, who is Renato Sanches? Will he even make it to the United starting line up if United do manage to sign him? All these questions immediately pop in mind to anyone wanting to know more about the player and his apparent move and in this article, our primary focus will be on Renato Sanches and whether or not he’ll break into the United team if he signs for the Red Devils during the summer transfer window.

WHO IS RENATO SANCHES?

*In brief, Born and raised in the capital of Portugal that is Lisbon, Renato broke into the B team of Benfica in October 24. The 18 year old then impressed Benfica’s first team coach Rui Vitoria and he was handed his first appearance in 2015.
*Renato is rumored to have a 60 million release clause and he’s yet to make a senior appearance for the senior Portugese team although he’s featured in several youth competitions including the u17 World Cup.

Will Renato Sanches break into the United starting eleven and How will he suit them?

Watching Renato Sanches play, I have no doubt at all that this lad won’t struggle for long before breaking into the United team.  Known for his tireless energy and incredible pace, Renato doesn’t shy away from engaging himself in duels or outrunning the opposition, regardless of the fact that whether he has the ball at his feet or not. The remarkable confidence and self belief that flows through Renato is astonishing, that too considering the fact that he’s just 18!
Another eye-catching feature of Renato is his magnificent work-rate. Usually as the game goes by you just get the feeling that the players are getting tired, but this is not the case at all for Renato. He shifts into his backup engine and just refuses to walk and keeps on running.

Although Renato isn’t a lanky player, he has great strength as a player too. He’s won 57% of the average duels according to Squawka’s facts and this is no surprise at all. He doesn’t hesitate to put his body on the line and dig out the ball to help his team.
United have been constantly criticized for their lack of creativity in the attack and this is just what Renato can solve. A typical box-to-box midfielder like him enjoys going forward at any time. Renato’s breathtaking pace as well as composure over the ball is as good as his vision and selfless attitude. He can get the ball going from within the midfield and pick out passes without a glitch.

Renato has just two evident weaknesses, though.

* The amount of duels he wins aerially are comparatively less than what he actually wins with the ball on the ground.
* Aggressive and impulsive nature of Renato costs him several bookings and warnings in the game and in huge games, you don’t want this nature to affect the game and get your team into trouble by getting sent off.

Coming to the main-point, yes, I do see Renato getting into the first team of United. Mid-season onwards we’ve seen Louis Van Gaal experiment by changing formations and putting more emphasis on the attacks and for me, I can see him working like a charm in the 4-3-3 which Manchester United play. Renato will add more pace and spice to the game in the Premier League and he’ll also add a chunk of creativity as well.
* He can break forward without hesitation because the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin or Bastian Schweinsteiger will be present in the deep midfield role to help out defensively if Renato pushes forward.
* United’s policy has always favoured the youth and none in the English region can come better than United in nurturing youngsters, giving them base and then allowing them to establish and proceed forward and Renato can find himself amongst all this and considering the fact that Louis Van Gaal encourages youngsters, I can see him definitely starting games and being an integral part of the first team.
