Celtic FC News: Two old Firm players Filip Benkovic and Borna Barisic have received an international call-up from Croatian manager Zlatko Dalic for the Euro Qualifiers. (h/t The Scottish Sun)
The world cup runners-up will face Wales in the qualifiers next month.
Rangers left-back earlier featured for Croatia in the qualifiers and scored his maiden goal against Azerbaijan. The 26-year-old has fared well under Steven Gerrard this season, garnering two assists in 16 appearances.
However, the Croat full-back to deal with a knee injury in the qualifiers, which forced him to miss a string of matches. He made his return in last Sunday’s defeat against Kilmarnock.
Meanwhile, Celtic’s Benkovic, 22, is due to return to his parent club Leicester City, as his loan spell ends this summer.
Benkovic has made 20 appearances this season and his progress also got hindered by an injury midway through the season.
Both the Old Firm players will feature alongside some of the international stars like Ivan Rakitic, Luka Modric and Ivan Perisic.
