Two Paul Pogba replacements Manchester United can look out for

Paul Pogba has been a constant subject of rave discussions throughout the summer and the Frenchman continues to be in the news. This time too, the discussion is something related to his future at Manchester United, a topic which never seems to shy away from the spotlight.

According to Manchester Evening News, United fans are not happy with the latest comments from the midfielder when asked about his future at the club. He’s been linked with Barcelona and the Frenchman gave a mixed bag response when asked about his stay at Old Trafford.

MEN further put out a poll on twitter, asking the supporters to vote whether Pogba should stay or not. Surprisingly, 60% voted in favour of him leaving.

So, now with this rumour taking centre stage, here are two replacements Man United could look out for in the near future:

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (Lazio)

Manchester United have been targeting the Serbian playmaker this summer, who received a lot of offers from many other top clubs in Europe. (Manchester Evening News)

Milinkovic-Savic can play as an attacking midfielder or drop in as one of the central midfielders in a 4-3-3 formation.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

In terms of stature, the 23-year-old is quite similar to what Pogba is. He can slot into Mourinho’s midfield, doing the defensive job when required and making use of the ball with great effect. So, if Pogba gets out of the club, United should think about bringing in Milinkovic-Savic before any other big club takes him away.

Ruben Neves (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

The £60m-rated youngster from Wolves has been doing his bit since his arrival in England. According to Express, United are in the shout to buy this midfielder, with Manchester City also keeping close tabs. But with the Portuguese connection at Old Trafford, Neves might well be tempted to move to the Red side of Manchester.

Ruben Neves

The 21-year-old is right up there in terms of quality and can play in a 2-man midfield or in a 3-man midfield without much fuss. Neves possesses a fantastic passing range, along with this tenacity to win balls in crucial areas of the pitch.

The Portuguese can be a perfect Mourinho-type midfielder, who can cover the ground and do a job at both ends of the field. At 21, he is a talisman of one of the Premier League clubs, so one can realise how good he is.
