Burnley 0-1 Arsenal: Player Ratings For The Gunners

Share

Arsenal made it 8 wins in a row and stayed in second place in the Premier League, they needed an early goal from Aaron Ramsey to get all three points against a tough Burnley side. The game was not really a treat to watch, but Arsenal will be pleased to come away with the win against the team that had beaten Manchester City last month.

With Arsenal gaining momentum, we look at the player ratings from the Gunner players.

David Ospina: 7/10

While the stats do say that Burnley had a few shots on goal, Ospina was not really worried barring the one save from a free kick, another decent outing from the Colombian.

Hector Bellerin: 6.5/10

The youngster seems to be getting better as each game goes by; he made some few defensive mistakes but linked up really well in attack with the rest of the squad.

Per Mertesacker: 7.5/10

Captaining the team, Per was rock solid at the back and did his best along with his partner Koscielny in keeping Barnes and Ings quiet throughout the game.

Laurent Koscielny: 7/10

Koscielny was a doubt for the game, but he looked fit against a tough Burnley team, Arsenal look much better with the Frenchman playing in the centre of defines.

Nacho Monreal: 7/10

Monreal was solid at the back for Arsenal and helped in attack as well, but he should have been able to keep a few crosses out though Burnley didn’t really carry a threat to the defence.

Francis Coquelin: 7/10

Another powerful display from the young midfielder, Coquelin was up against a tough Burnley team, but he did hold his own, apart from a couple of instances when Burnley were on top of the Arsenal midfield.

Santi Cazorla: 7/10

Santi didn’t really have to do much in the game, the passing from Arsenal was brilliant at times, but there wasn’t really much incisiveness in their attack.

Aaron Ramsey: 8/10

Scored the only goal of the game and linked up well with the attack, Arsenal fans must be pleased seeing Ramsey slowly getting back into top gear.

Mesut Ozil: 7/10

Mesut Ozil didn’t really have to do much in the game, his passing seemed effortless but he did have a decent outing for the Gunners.

Alexis Sanchez: 8/10

A good performance from Sanchez, he along with the other attackers had an easy outing and though they might not have scored more than one goal, they were never in fear of losing the game.

Olivier Giroud: 7/10

Giroud had another decent outing, he might not have scored during the game but he did have chances to help Arsenal increase the lead.

Substitutes:

Danny Welbeck: 5/10

Was brought on with just 8 minutes to go and didn’t really have much time to score but he did have a couple of pops at goal.

Calum Chambers: NA

On as a substitute in stoppage time, couldn’t really do much in the game.
