Bristol Live has reported that Arsenal starlet Eddie Nketiah is at the top of Bristol City’s list of targets for next summer. The young forward made quite an impact last season, playing in the Europa League, Premier League and even the EFL Cup.
It was in the latter that the 19-year-old really showed his class. Coming on as a substitute for his home debut, Nketiah would go on to score two goals in the space of ten minutes, which proved to be the killer blow.
In fact, the first goal happened to be his first touch of the game. Released by Chelsea and then immediately scooped up by Arsenal, Eddie Nketiah is a pocket-rocket with sensational ability in the final third.
His speciality is scoring goals and the 19-year-old has proven himself to be a great scorer of goals at youth-level. He combines that with his movement and spatial awareness.
He would be a great addition to Bristol City. Manager Lee Johnson does have quite a few strikers to call upon, with the likes of Famara Diedhiou, Mo Eisa, Matty Taylor and Jamie Paterson at his disposal.
Yet, baring Diedhiou, the others have failed to consistently perform for the club, scoring a combined 8 goals between them.
It shows their struggles and that the club lacks clinical players, which needs to change next season. That’s exactly what the young Eddie Nketiah can bring into their team. But given his talent, ambition and how highly rated he is at Arsenal, it would only be a loan move.
Even that would work for Bristol City, as it allows them time to find a permanent solution while allowing Nketiah to get regular game-time. A permanent move may not be out of the picture, if the 19-year-old does struggle to do well at Arsenal.
But given the rate at which he is moving right now, that’s a scenario which is highly unlikely for either Arsenal, Bristol City or Eddie Nketiah

Bristol City needs reinforcements if they are to survive next season. Adding someone as talented as Eddie Nketiah, even on loan, will help them move forward and that could help the Robins bridge the gap at the top.
