Brilliant Okazaki – The Best And The Worst Rated Leicester Players From The 2-1 Win vs Swansea City

Share

Full Time: Swansea City 1-2 Leicester City

Michael Appleton was in charge of Leicester City in their first game of the post-Shakespeare era and the Foxes managed to take all three points from a trip to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday. Federico Fernandez gave the visitors an early lead with an own goal, while Shinji Okazaki doubled it just after the break to keep the Foxes two goals ahead.

Alfie Mawson pulled one back for the hosts but Leicester showed enough resilience to take all three points.

Leicester City Player Ratings

Kasper Schmeichel (7)

Was hardly tested by a toothless Swansea attack and could not do much to stop the goal from the corner.

Danny Simpson (7)

Stuck to his task well on the flank as he was a constant presence for the Foxes at both ends of the field.

Harry Maguire (6)

Though he was shaky at the start, he grew into the game and managed to keep the Swansea attackers away from his goal even when the pressure was mounting late in the game.

Wes Morgan (7)

Won the battle against Abraham, reducing half of Swansea’s threat and won almost everything thrown at him in the air, in what was a commanding display.

Christian Fuchs (6)

Was a bit too eager all game, even as he picked up an early booking but did well not to commit himself into tackles.

Riyad Mahrez (8)

Though he failed to score, Mahrez was a constant threat to Swansea with his dribbling and passing as he created a number of half chances for his side.

Vicente Iborra (8)

One of his best games in a Leicester shirt, where he dominated the midfield and kept his side on the front foot for most of the game.

Wilfried Ndidi (7)

Similar to Iborra, one of his best performances of the season as they built a partnership that was too hot for Swansea to handle.

Marc Albrighton (7)

Played his part in the build-up to the second goal and stood firm, giving Leicester some width in the attack as well as in the midfield.

Shinji Okazaki (8)

Looked like a free bird, given the license to roam and made the most of his chance as he constantly troubled the Swans and got himself a goal.

Jamie Vardy (7)

Unlucky not to score but was a thorn in the flesh of the Swansea backline with his relentless running.

Subs:

Andy King (7)

Added some flair to the game, helping his side through.

Demerai Gray – N/A

Came on too late to warrant a rating.
