Brilliant Allen – Best And The Worst Rated Liverpool Players From Their 2-0 Win Over Watford

Liverpool will play Chelsea in midweek but did pull off an easy win against Watford at Anfield tonight. The Reds will have more than one eye on the Europa League final on 18 May but should be pleased how the youngsters at the club were able to dispatch a decent Watford side.

Joe Allen and Roberto Firmino got the goals for the Reds in a game where they had 66% possesion. Watford did have a couple of good chances but Simon Mignolet for once could keep a clean sheet. The win kept Liverpool in eighth place but all eyes are on the Europa League final in Basel.

We look back at the game and provide the player ratings for the Liverpool side.

Simon Mignolet – 7/10

Mignolet didn’t really have much to do in the game but he did have one great save to show in the game.

Jon Flanagan – 6/10

The English defender didn’t really have a lot of problems in defence but should have done a bit more in attack.

Martin Skrtel – 7/10

The Slovakian did have a decent game in what could be one of his last games for Liverpool.

Lucas Leiva – 6/10

Lucas is not a central defender and he did have a few issues at the start of the game but survived and ensured that Liverpool do have a clean sheet.

Alberto Moreno – 6/10

Moreno did have a decent enough game, nothing too spectacular down the left flank for Liverpool, both in attack and defence.

Joe Allen – 8/10

The Welsh Xavi had another great game for the Reds and could pretty well stay in Liverpool next season as well. Allen capped off the game with a good goal as well.

Kevin Stewart – 6/10

Stewart didn’t really do much wrong in the game but didn’t impress many people as well.

Sheyi Ojo – 7/10

Ojo didn’t set the world alight like he has in other games but this was another impressive performance and he did play a big role in the second Liverpool goal.

Jordon Ibe – 6/10

Even after getting another chance to show his ability, Ibe was extremely poor for the Reds and it seems his time at Anfield is coming to an end.

Phillipe Coutinho – 6/10

Coutinho did link up with the big Belgian Benteke up top well but it didn’t really make sense to play him in a game when the Europa League final is a few days away.

Christian Benteke – 5/10

If Jordon Ibe was poor, Benteke’s time could be coming to an end as well. The Belgian did do well with Coutinho but has to do much more if he wants to prove to Klopp that he deserves to stay at the club.

Substitutes:

Roberto Firmino – 7/10

The substitute came off the bench for Coutinho and scored and important goal which should give him the confidence before the big final.

Connor Randall – NA
