Premier League champions Chelsea are now on the verge of beating their league rivals Arsenal and Liverpool to sign Barcelona’s Pedro and a £22m deal is expected to be completed by next week. The Daily Star further stated that manager Luis Enrique will not stop the Spaniard if he decides to leave the Nou Camp and move to Stamford Bridge.
Pedro will be allowed to leave when he and Enrique meet for talks later today, after the Blues agreed to pay his buy-out clause.
Recently, in an interview Enrique said, “My wish is that Pedro stays, but there are circumstances in his contract and I will respect his opinion if he wants to leave.”
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has tabled a four-year contract for the winger and is confident of completing a move for the 27 year old superstar this summer. The Spanish international signed a new contract with the Catalan side last month, committing his future to the club until 2019.
However, the European champs have agreed to lower his £106m buy-out clause, should the attacker wish to move to west London.
