Leeds United were surprisingly off-radar in their 2-2 draw against Swansea City on Tuesday. Whether it was the Swans playing very well or Marcelo Bielsa’s men failing to match their high-intensity football in a midweek game remains an open discussion.
However, the Leeds boss making two changes by half-time clearly shows he wasn’t happy with something on the pitch. He needs to make sure that the players are up for a reaction in another quick turnaround game, this time against a buoyed Norwich City.
The Canaries won their previous game after failing to win the first three, and so they will be high on confidence for their home game against the Peacocks.
Liam Cooper pulled up on Tuesday and isn’t expected to take part in the next game as well. Pontus Jansson also had a back spasm prior to the Swansea game, which means he is ruled out for Saturday. Stuart Dallas is yet to recover from his thigh injury.
He has been a solid presence between the sticks for Leeds despite having one or two wobbly moments. Bielsa trusts him, which is important.
Started the previous game after Cooper got injured before the game. With Luke Ayling most certainly switching to centre-back for this game, Shackleton may get another go at right-back.
Berardi needs to improve his game if Leeds are to continue doing well this season. Bielsa may give him more chances to prove his worth.
He began the last game at centre-back too, and might get another bite at the cherry this weekend against Norwich.
Douglas wasn’t good against Swansea, but he has been decent for Leeds so far overall. Expect him to get better.
Came on at half-time for a sub-par Ezgjan Alioski and did enough to probably warrant a starting spot for this game.
Kalvin Phillips was hooked even before half-hour mark in the last game, and Baker was introduced. So, the message was clear from Bielsa that the Chelsea loanee might get a chance in central midfield.
The Pole became better as the previous game went on. The manager would want him to start better and hold the midfield together.
Swansea tactically found a way to stop Saiz by marking him tightly. It will upto the Spaniard now, to use his talent and skills on the ball to get better against Norwich.
Wasn’t at his best on Tuesday, but got a crucial equaliser late on. Hernandez is a type of winger who will give his 100% on the pitch.

The striker continues his good scoring form, along with his hard-working performances. He is keeping a talented Patrick Bamford out of the team so far and should continue to do so.
