The Best And Worst Rated Chelsea Players vs West Ham: Cesc, The Future Captain?

Share

Chelsea player ratings vs West Ham

Another London derby but this time, it was West Ham who were favourites as they faced Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Slaven Bilic’s men came out with a 2-2 draw but would have hoped for more as they gave away a soft penalty late on in the game.

Cesc Fabregas

The scoring began with Manuel Lanzini before Cesc Fabregas made it all level with a great free-kick. Andy Carroll made it 2-1 before Fabregas converted the penalty in the 89th minute to give Chelsea a point and put a spanner in the works for West Ham’s European dreams.

We look back at the game and rate the performance of the Chelsea players.

Thibaut Courtois – 6/10

The Belgian could have done better to keep Carroll’s shot out but couldn’t have done much to stop Lanzini’s drive.

Branislav Ivanovic – 5/10

The Serb couldn’t really do much in defence but did have a few good crosses and openings in attack.

Gary Cahill – 6/10

An alright game from the Englishman, didn’t really do much to suggest that he can lead Chelsea in the future without Terry.

John Terry – 7/10

Leadership was back in the team for Chelsea with john Terry. The Legend did alright at the back and hopefully, will make a few more appearances till the end of the season.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 6/10

Azpilicueta had a decent game at the back, nothing too flashy.

Cesc Fabregas – 8/10

Cesc had a great game for Chelsea scoring the penalty and the free-kick to give them a point in the derby. The leadership he showed during the game was impressive. Future blues’ captain maybe?

John Obi Mikel – 5/10

Mikel had a torrid game trying to deal with the movement and creativity of the West Ham team.

Willian – 6/10

The Brazilian was his regular bubbly and energetic self in attack for Chelsea and did a lot of work in defence as well but nothing too spectacular.

Oscar – 7/10

Oscar won the free-kick which Cesc scored from but should have done more with the opportunities provided to him. Didn’t have the greatest game for the Blues.

Kenedy – 5/10

The Brazilian was given a more attacking role but had to be taken off in the second half due to injury.

Loic Remy – 5/10

The French attacker had a number of chances to impress or shoot at goal but couldn’t do either and will probably rue his missed chances.

Substitutes:

Pedro – 6/10

Pedro came on in the second half but couldn’t really do much for the side.

Bertrand Traore – 6/10

Traore came on for Remy to provide more bite in attack but didn’t really get it done all that well.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – NA

Loftus-Cheek came on as a late substituted and couldn’t really do much in the game.
