Best Arsenal XI To Face Crystal Palace: The German Star Back In Action

Share

Arsenal Predicted XI vs Crystal Palace

After two back to back losses that saw Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal slip into the 4th place, a late goal from Olivier Giroud spared them some blushes in the previous league game against West Brom. The manager will know that his side are low on confidence at the moment but will hope that their game over Crystal Palace this week will get them back to their best. Palace, who gave Sam Allardyce a point from his first game in charge in the Premier League this season, will be hoping to put in a good shift on the night but playing at the Emirates, they are not expected to take even a point from this game. Here is the predicted lineup that Wenger might field for this game against Palace:

Team News:

Arsene Wenger revealed before the game that German defender Shkodran Mustafi is back in training and ready to take the field this weekend while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also expected to shake off his recent injury. Winger Theo Walcott has joined the injury list alongside Kieran Gibbs with the duo ruled out for this game alongside Per Mertesacker, Santi Cazorla and Mathieu Debuchy. Danny Welbeck is also back in training but might not play a role in this game.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Petr Cech:

The first choice shot-stoper for the Gunners, Cech, has been in decent form this season and he should keep his place in the side for this game.

Hector Bellerin:

The Spaniard is one of the most exciting players in the Arsenal squad this season and he is a regular starter for Arsenal at the right back position.

Laurent Koscielny:

The most important player for the Gunners at the back, Koscielny, is currently one of the best defenders in England and should start for Arsenal this weekend.

Shkodran Mustafi:

The German is finally fit and back in action and should be back into the starting XI after getting more than a couple of training sessions under his belt coming back from an injury.

Nacho Monreal:

The absence of Kieran Gibbs for this game will play Wenger’s hand in going with Monreal for this game against Crystal Palace.

Francis Coquelin:

The midfielder is currently the first choice for Wenger in his position and is an automatic starter for Arsenal in the league this season.

Aaron Ramsey:

The Welsh midfielder has not been at his best this season so far but Wenger will hope that he can rise to the occasion in this game against Palace.

Alex Iwobi:

The young winger has been used extensively by Wenger in the absence of key players and he should take up the right wing for this game.

Mesut Ozil:

The German play maker has been in sublime form this season and though he has been off his guard off late, he is an impact player and should keep his place in the side for this weekend.

Alexis Sanchez:

The Chilean has been the most consistent player for the Gunners this season playing as a false-9 but injuries to key players might see him return to the wing for this game.

Olivier Giroud:

After scoring yet another winner for the Gunners, Giroud, should be given his chance to start a game for Arsenal and this game against Palace might give him a great opportunity to get his place back in the first team.
