Jose Mourinho has transformed the fortunes of Tottenham since his arrival and looks to be on course to achieve something with the Lilywhites.
Tottenham have already qualified for the knockout stages in this edition of the Champions League. They travel to Germany to face off against Bayern Munich at the Football Arena Stadium on Wednesday night.
Under sacked manager Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham were heavily humiliated by the might Bavarians at home in the reverse fixture. This time around, Mourinho will be hoping to take them across the line and boost their confidence going into the next stage.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have lost two games in the Bundesliga on the trot and will be hoping to change things around under Hansi Flick.
However, Mourinho’s men will be heading into this game after a 5-0 victory over Burnley. Spurs seem to be ready for any challenge on their way and will be hoping to dominate the Bavarians, who seem to be off-balance.
They will be without their captain Hugo Lloris, who is not expected to return any time soon. Ben Davies is another victim whose return to the squad is uncertain.
Erik Lamela’s thigh injury and Michel Vorm’s calf problem means they are on the sidelines whereas Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele are being assessed after they caught up with injuries recently.
Despite Tottenham being in a good form, Gazzaniga has not been on top of his game. He has just one clean sheet in the last 6 games. He is expected to start and would be hoping against all odds to keep Bayern at bay.
Aurier has become a better player under Mourinho. He has scored and assisted in the last few games and seems to have rejuvenated himself. He would be an undoubted starter given his performances of late.
The Colombian has got his chances ahead of Jan Vertonghen at the heart of the defence but is yet to show his full potential. He is expected to retain his spot.
The 30-year-old has been Tottenham’s central figure for a long time and his experience will be banked upon when they face Bayern Munich.
The Belgian has been covering the left-back position in the absence of Ben Davies. He will be a key player for Tottenham in their attack as they would be expecting him to put in crosses regularly from the left.
The Englishman hasn’t fulfilled his potential despite being given enough chances. He is expected to retain his spot as Winks is doubtful for the game.
The Frenchman was brilliant at the weekend against Burnley and scored a wonderful goal. He will start in the absence of his compatriot Ndombele.
Moura has been used more often by Mourinho rather than just appearing from the bench under Pochettino. He is expected to cover the right side of the pitch.
Alli has not only improved his game but has also found his goalscoring touch under the Portuguese. He looks to be refreshed and is working magic for the team in every game. He would be starting without a doubt.
The South Korean was lively against Burnley and performed beyond expectations. He also scored a wonderful solo goal. He is expected to bolster their attack against Bayern Munich.
Kane should play as the lone striker as usual and will be hoping to continue from where he left off against Burnley. His inclusion is a must and would lead the team in the absence of Lloris.
