Aston Villa opinion: Should the Villans make a move for Kortney Hause?

According to Daily Star, Aston Villa are very keen on a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Kortney Hause. The 23-year-old spent the season on loan with the Lions, making 12 appearances in all competitions, arriving only in January.

He arrived as a backup star or rather a versatile star capable of playing anywhere across the defensive line and did as much. However, now with Villa releasing eight players, Hause has made their shortlist as the club look for reinforcements.

Manager Dean Smith has let go of Tommy Elphick, Alan Hutton, Micah Richards and even Glenn Whelan. This means that this should be a very busy summer for the club and one that they really need.

They’ve already added Jota from Birmingham City, Anwar El Ghazi on a permanent basis and Wesley from Club Brugge. All three are talented players and ones who should make an impact. However, they are all attackers.

And with Villa letting go of three defenders, they need to add defensive reinforcements. However, adding a player for each and every position is a lot harder than it looks, which is where Kortney Hause comes into play. The Wolves star is a versatile player who can play anywhere at the back.

He’s even been used as a left-back despite being predominantly right-footed, which showcases his talent. Moreover, Hause is defensively reliable and thanks to his height, he is dominant in the air.

With time and as proven in his short spell with Aston Villa, the move will only help him improve even further. Dean Smith has proven to be rather good with the young starlets and while Hause is 23 years old, he still falls under that category.

The Lions need that and after a rather long three-year spell in the Championship, things are finally looking up. However, to stay in the top-flight, the club has to make the right additions and this is reason enough to sign someone like Hause.

Conclusion

Aston Villa have finally made it back to the Premier League but if they have any plans of staying in the top tier longer than just one year, then things need to change. Those eight players that they lost have to be replaced and the only way to do that is by adding someone like Kortney Hause.
