Arsenal Youngster Set To Leave Emirates Along With Outcast Arshavin At The End Of The Season

Remember Conor Henderson? An Irish man touted to reach the heights of Liam Brady and David O’Leary with Arsenal but never really hit it off during his time at the Emirates. Arsene Wenger gave him his first full debut two years back when Arsenal faced Leyton Orient in the FA Cup, but that was the only match he played for the Gunners as a second cruciate knee ligament injury halted his progression at a devastating rate.

The youngster spent almost an year in the treatment tables and was loaned out to Coventry at the start of this season. However, with just one appearance to his name he came back to London with another injury to his ligament. At the age of 21, Henderson has hardly played with the first team and sticking around Arsenal he will only waste time.

Henderson’s contract is due this summer at the youngster has come out and told his desire to leave Arsenal.

“I’ve not played at Arsenal’s first team this season, so it’s the right thing to leave when my contract expires in the summer,” Henderson, 21, said last night. “I’ve been with the club since my childhood but, like most of the Arsenal youngsters over the years, I need a move to get football.

“At my age, I have to be playing regularly and I can’t get that at Arsenal, only U21 matches. I’ve  been training with the first-team every day until the injury struck. Since I’ve come back, that’s only happened once.

“It’s been a difficult few months but I’m optimistic about starting fresh at another club. Even Robbie Brady had to depart Manchester United for a new challenge and he’ll say he’s happy  playing week in, week out at Hull.”

He added: “My agent has already received interest from a few clubs.”

Having played for England U-17, Henderson decided to switch his National team and has already played few International’s for the Irish U-21 team.

In other news, Arsenal outcast Arshavin is all set to leave Emirates as Fulham has expressed their interest in signing the Russian. Arshavin has always expressed his desire to stay in London as his family is well settled there and Fulham being a London club could be an easy choice for the winger.

Talking about the situation, his agent said:  “Top English clubs won’t take him,” Dmitri Seluk told Sports.ru. And considering the fact that he doesn’t want to leave London, the next club for Arshavin will be Fulham or something like that.”
