Arsenal Vs Newcastle United – Three key Battles That Will Decide The Game

Share

Arsenal have a chance to make it 4 wins out of 5 in all competitions and blow away all talks of an impending crisis out of the water despite all the fresh injuries which seems to have piled up once again with Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal and Aaron Ramsey ruled out. With Calum Chambers missing this match due to suspension, Arsenal’s fragile back four will be stretched even more. Will a makeshift Arsenal side be good enough to get all three points against the Magpies, who are themselves enjoying an excellent run of form? Here at Soccersouls, we have listed the potentially three key battles in the Arsenal Vs Newcastle United clash which will decide the outcome of the match.

Alexis Sanchez Vs Daryl Janmaat:

This, for us is the most crucial clash of the entire match. Daryl Janmaat the Dutch right back against Alexis Sanchez who will start from the left hand side of midfield. Daryl Janmaat has been in great form for the last few matches and has not let Newcastle United feel the absence of Mathieu Debuchy, who left for Arsenal, at all. However the question remains as to how he will do when he will face the sternest test of his short Premier League career when he has the task of stopping Alexis Sanchez, the best player of Arsenal by far.

Cheick Tiote Vs Santi Cazorla:

The Newcastle United enforcer will be given the onerous task of trying to make sure that the Arsenal midfield does not find it’s rhythm in the game. Cheick Tiote will have to show his physical side of the game to stop being outplayed by the Arsenal midfield and especially Santi Cazorla who will play the most advanced role in the Arsenal midfield. The Spaniard will be the heartbeat of an Arsenal team which is already missing Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey and Cheick Tiote will know that stopping Santi Cazorla will mean half the job is done for Newcastle United.

Papiss Cisse Vs Mathieu Debuchy:

Papiss Cisse is in red hot form at the moment and although Alan Pardew is tight lipped about starting him due to his problematic knee, we feel that Pardew will give CIsse the start against what is very much a makeshift Arsenal defence. With Calum Chambers ruled out, Mathieu Debuchy will most probably have to play at the unfamiliar position of centre half and that is the position where Papiss Cisse will look to exploit Arsenal. Per Mertesacker will have to be at his very best today to provide cover for Mathieu Debuchy, for whom the centre back role is very much unfamiliar.
