Arsenal-Man Utd combined XI

Arsenal and Man Utd face each other in a bid to revive their campaigns. While Man Utd grabbed a win against Crystal Palace before the international break, Arsenal ended up on the losing side against Swansea City. Despite their altering forms and injury worries, both teams are genuinely strong and offer entertaining matches whenever they meet. Here is the combined XI of the teams for the coming match.

Goal Keeper and Defense

Wojciech Szczesny

Goalkeeper: Szczesny

The Polish keeper would make the combined XI ahead of Man Utd second choice Lindegaard as in-form star David De Gea is injured. The Arsenal man would be on guard against Man Utd’s world class strike force.

Defence: Chambers

The youngster has been in decent form this season and has played well on the right side of defence. He has been a crucial addition this summer as Arsenal suffered defensive worries.

Defence: McNair

Based on form, McNair would make the list for the XI as he has been delivering whenever selected. He has had to play a fair share of games and has been more comfortable of late than Per Mertesacker.

Defence: Mertesacker

He features in this team as Koscielny is not sure of playing as he is recovering from injury. He is a top defensive player but of late, he has again started to struggle against quicker players.

Defence: Gibbs

Gibbs has been in better form than young Luke Shaw of Man Utd. Gibbs has been playing consistently, delivering on the expectation.

Midfield and Attack

Midfield: Fellaini

He has been a revelation as he has found form under van Gaal. Playing a box to box role and attacking the ball, he has proved to be a great player.

Midfield: Carrick

Michael Carrick

Blind was injured in the international break and veteran Michael Carrick would have to play the role. It won’t be too difficult for him as it is the position of his expertise.

Midfield: Cazorla

The twinkle toed Arsenal playmaker is a very decisive footballer. He runs the offense for the Gunners with his dribbling, passing and vision.

Midfield: Di Maria

He has been the most consistent Man Utd player this season, time and again providing assists, key passes and the occasional goal. A player to watch out.

Forward: Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez has been in red hot form this season banging goals day in and day out. A great versatile forward and midfielder, he is also known for his work rate.

Forward: Rooney

While both van Persie and Falcao have been hot and cold, Rooney has been working hard and has been filling crucial positions on the pitch. His influence on the matches have been immense.
