Arsenal vs. Leicester & The Other Big Game Next Weekend: Who Will Come Out On Top On Valentine’s Day?

Share

Super Sunder in the Premier League cannot get any bigger with the top four taking on each other in what could be a title defining weekend of football. Arsenal host league leaders Leicester City while second placed Tottenham travel to Manchester City.

Leicester have only lost two games in this entire campaign and one of them was a 5-2 loss at the hands of the Gunners at the King Power Stadium earlier in the season. City also will be looking for some revenge as Tottenham had gotten the better of the side from Manchester at White Hart Lane earlier this term.

The interesting bit in all this is that Leicester actually are the team with the best form of the four. The Foxes are unbeaten in their last six games with four wins and a couple of draws. They would be coming fresh from the amazing 3-1 win over Manchester City and a repeat performance at the Emirates could well lead Claudio Ranieri’s men to their first ever Premier League crown.

The team second in the form table and the Premier League table is Tottenham and a similar performance against Manchester City that they achieved earlier in the season could see them at least become the major threat that could derail Leicester’s ride to the promised land of Premier League champions.

With so much hanging in the balance we look at what could actually happen in these two massive games on Valentine’s Day.

Arsenal vs. Leicester City

The big clash sees third placed Arsenal face the league leaders. Arsenal were leading the table not so long ago but as per the usual Arsenal tale, their form went kaput and now the Gunners sit third in the table five points behind Leicester.

The Gunners have only won twice in their last six games but have a better record at home having won four of their last six at the Emirates. Leicester’s away form has been brilliant this season and they have also won four out of their last six away games.

The last time these two clubs met, it was Arsenal who came out on top but with Leicester having overcome Liverpool and Manchester City in successive games, who can bet against Leicester from winning at the Emirates?

Manchester City vs. Tottenham

Maybe naming Pep Guardiola as the next in line for City at this juncture of the season wasn’t the right call. The team have really trailed off recently and they were demolished by Leicester when the Manchester City team – on paper at least – should have won the game based on their squad.

Tottenham though are flying high and are second in the form table with four wins on the bounce. Their away form also is incredible with four wins and two draws in their last six games. Manchester City though have only lost one game in their last six at the Etihad and will be looking for some revenge against Spurs.

This match might be a tough one to call but it could be a draw leaving Leicester to open a large gap at the top of the table and hopefully make their dream come true.
