It was earlier revealed by Wenger that everyone involved with the Hull City clash is fit again and are ready to face Newcastle this week with the likes of Gibbs and Diaby set to miss the clash. Vermaelen who missed out against Hull, might be called back to fill in at left-back this time around.
Earlier today, Wenger updated the latest news on Jack Wilshere who has been out of action since March following the hairline fracture he picked while on International duty against Denmark. It is still highly unlikely for Wilshere to be fit in time to play the remaining three league games, but the English International might recover on time before Roy Hodgson picks his final list to board the flight to Brazil.
Wenger revealed that he does not want to push Wilshere back into the first team until he is fully fit.
“I don’t want to rush his fitness. If he wants to come back he needs to be fully fit, for that I believe it is very important that we don’t rush him,” said Wenger, whose side will look to take a firm grip on a top-four finish with victory over Newcastle on Monday night.
“We want to do the basic work on his stamina so he can support the demands of the Premier League and the World Cup. This time we will take the needed time to build the basic fitness up on a very strong level.”
The Gunners were involved in their final training session today at the London Colney and the likes of Podolski, Ozil, Vermaelen, Ramsey were involved.
