Arsenal – Tottenham Combined XI Features 5 Arsenal And 6 Spurs Players

Share

Arsenal and Spurs face off in a mouth watering Premier League fixture this weekend. The two top four contenders are in great form and are expected to involve themselves in a goal scoring fest this weekend and revitalize their rivalry this time out with extremely well matched teams. A win would be decisive for both clubs and would see them make progress in their bid for a UCL spot. Here is the combined XI from the arch rivals from North London.

Goalkeeper : Hugo Lloris (Spurs)

Lloris is one of the best keepers and in great form these days. Beating him at goal is a tough ask for any strike force and Giroud and co. will have to be clinical.

Right Back: Kyle Walker (Spurs)

Brisk pace and power on the Right flank, Walker is one of the best fullbacks in England who’s had a patchy season so far. He would still be the better Right Back in North London on the match day.

Center Back: Jan Vertonghen (Spurs)

He has risen to prominence in the recent weeks and he’s back to his best form with a new partnership with Fazio. His aggression and diligence in defense would be useful to cope against a tricky Arsenal attack.

Center Back: Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

He’s the best center back in Arsenal for the last couple of seasons. He is the force at the back, which helped Arsenal keep three consecutive clean sheets in the past three games.

Left Back: Nacho Monreal (Arsenal)

He has been quiet and consistent with his performances in the past few weeks. His solidity has been visible in Arsenal’s rise in form.

Central Midfield: Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)

He’s been extremely important for Arsenal in the past weeks. His skill set in a more midfield oriented role right in the center has been very useful and well exhibited by Wenger’s tactics.

Central Midfield: Francis Coquelin (Arsenal)

He has developed into a great all action midfielder to bail Arsenal out of their defensive midfield issues. He offers the work rate, intelligence and aggression that Arsenal so desperately needed at the start of the season.

Right Midfield: Nacer Chadli (Spurs)

He has shown great form this season and has stepped up with his decisiveness in the final third. His goalscoring has been noticeable this season and would be a threat going forward.

Left Midfield: Christian Eriksen (Spurs)

He’s been at his destructive best and his free kicks have been unbelievably accurate in the recent weeks. His creativity would be key to Spurs’ performance against their arch  rivals.

Striker: Harry Kane (Spurs)

Kane has been among the English Premier League’s top scorers this season. It has been an amazing breakthrough season for the local lad and he would be a consistent offensive threat.

Striker: Olivier Giroud (Arsenal)

He has been prolific and reliable since his return from injury. He is a significant presence up front and a great focal point for Arsenal’s attack. He would have to deal with his French National team’s captain Hugo Lloris.
