Arsenal Opinion: Gunners interested in Suso – a good move by Emery?

According to reports from the Mirror, AC Milan right-winger Suso is attracting a lot of interest from Premier League giants Arsenal as they try to add more wingers to their ranks.

Arsenal’s attack is extremely short on depth and with Emery’s apparent dislike for Mesut Ozil, there is an urgent requirement for the addition of some reinforcements.

For them to really push for the league title and other trophies, there are multiple weak positions where they’re in need of cover. While defence is one of the most glaring concerns, the wings haven’t been utilised quite as effectively as it could have been by the Gunners this season.

In Unai Emery’s style of play, there is a massive reliance on the wings, and crosses are an important element of his ideology. Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi remain the only recognised wingers in Arsenal’s realistic first-team squad, with the former capable of playing in a number ten role as well.

While Mesut Ozil has been their main creative outlet over the years, his inability to keep up with the pace of the game for a full ninety minutes has seen him get frozen out by the new manager.

The addition of some wingers is certain to liven up this Arsenal team and with the presence of players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, there’s no reason why they can’t push for titles in the upcoming seasons.

The additions of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira have been extremely smart moves by Emery and a few more attacking signings are required for them to be able to really express themselves on the football pitch.

As reported by the Mirror, one player that the Arsenal chiefs seem to have identified as a summer target is former Liverpool man Suso who currently plays in the Italian first division for AC Milan.

He is a tricky right-winger who is excellent on the ball and is capable of striking the ball from long distances very well. His trickery and quickness of feet will certainly suit the English game and his experience will be an added motivation to the Gunners as well.

He left Anfield for San Siro in 2015 and has since become a key part of the squad. This season, under Gennaro Gattuso, he has made an impressive 22 league appearances and scored 5 goals, setting up 8.

Conclusion

His addition will certainly free up Aubameyang in the middle and a formation change could be in order as well. Irrespective how they incorporate him into the side, Arsenal need to bring the highly rated Spaniard to the Emirates if they are to push for trophies in the coming season.
