Arsenal must sign Bennasser from Monaco to strengthen up their midfield

Reports from Calciomercato are suggesting that Arsenal are keen on signing Monaco midfielder Youssef Ait Bennasser as cover in the midfield.

Arsenal have been always been a team who have played beautiful football. Intricate passing, precise movement and sharp finishing have always been Arsenal’s main traits over the years.

Arsenal fans pride themselves over the ‘Invincibles’ season under Arsene Wenger which was a clear depiction of the values that this club is built upon. More than the trophies, the Arsenal fans always rave about the way they did it – by completely dominating the entire division with their play.

After all the drama that unfolded over the last couple of seasons, this Arsenal is not a bad side at all. They have strong players for most positions and have been doing much better in the league as well.

According to the Mirror, Aaron Ramsey is on his way out of the club as Arsenal aren’t going to renew his contract. This will be a huge blow to Emery as the Welshman has always been a key part of this Arsenal squad.

He is an attack-minded midfield player who scores crucial goals and can change games with moments of magic. According to Calciomercato, Arsenal are looking to sign Monaco midfielder Youssef Ait Bennasser as a potential replacement for Ramsey.

He is a big central midfielder who excels at breaking up the play by reading passes and making tackles in tight spaces. He is also very good at dribbling the ball even when there is a lot of pressure on him. He is calm and composed, which makes him an ideal fit for the pragmatic nature of the Premier League.

He has played 12 games in the Ligue 1 for Monaco this season and has 2 assists. While he does get forward and help the build-up play, he is really a midfield commander who can conduct the game and dictate the play.

While he doesn’t offer quite what Ramsey does, bringing in a defensive-minded midfielder who can do better than Granit Xhaka could be the way to free up Lucas Torreira in the midfield. He could also slot in at the back when defending a lead and his stature will certainly be an asset in any situation

He has been excellent for Monaco so far this term and under the guidance of Unai Emery and with all the experience that he may gain from playing the Premier League, he can develop into quite a player.

This would be a positive move from Emery if he’s able to complete it, considering that the Youssef Ait Bennasser is sparkling with potential.
