Arsenal Round Up – Big Stiker Linked, Injury News

The summer transfer window still has some time to arrive, however many of the clubs are already on the lookout for players to add into their squad, and as such so are the media, who are on the lookout for players to link with some or the other clubs.

Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is one of the Arsenal targets this time around. According to Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri, a striker of Higuain’s caliber will have many more offers from different clubs before the transfer window opens. “I think that for a striker like that will come many more requests, not only by these two clubs (Chelsea and Arsenal),” he said.

Currently the player has two clubs looking out for him, thus Arsenal will be facing competition from Chelsea for the player’s signature.

Hector Bellerin may have a potential transfer offer from Barcelona after the match against Barcelona, where he is said to have impressed the Spanish side.

The former La Masia product impressed against his former side in midweek and according to Sport both Gerard Pique and Andres Iniesta sought him out after the match for a private chat and to congratulate him.

On the other hand Alex Oxlade-Chamberlein’s injury may lead to a set-back in his Euro 2016 dreams. Reports suggest that the player has injured his knee and ankle and he left the test centre in crutches, with heavy strapping and fear he has torn ligaments, which means he may end up missing a big part of Arsenal’s title run.

“We feared surgery at some stage when we saw the MRI, but in the end we got positive news on that front,” Wenger said at his news conference ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League game against Swansea. “But the next six to eight weeks, that means he’ll be out until March, April.”
