Arsenal Player Ratings Against Newcastle United – Outstanding Performance From Giroud And Cazorla

So, it happened once again! Yes, you got that one correct! Arsenal ended the game against Newcastle with yet another quadrivial, post their 1-4 triumph against Galatasaray. With two back to back victories in the line up, Wenger would now breathe a sigh of relief as his men seem to be in splendorous momentum. Arsenal’s performance particularly was a delight to watch. At no point in the game did the Gunners seem to go off sync, thus, producing a thumping win to outclass the Magpies with ease. Newcastle, on the other hand, put up a brave fight back; however, Arsenal always had an edge over them. As the game concluded with a stupefying 4-1 score; we present to you the player ratings for Arsenal in their victory against Newcastle.

Wojciech Szczesny (7/10): The second game for the Polish goalkeeper post his recovery from injury. He was pretty good last night, but not spectacular. However, he did make great saves of Cisse and Williamson’s hits in the first half.

Héctor Bellerín (8/10): The young Spanish right back was one of the most impressive performers for the side last night. His agile movements and smart dodges was nothing but astounding. He was highly instrumental in making the cross which eventually led to Giroud’s second goal.

Mathieu Debuchy (7/10): The French right back had been deployed as a center back for the first time in his career. Although he was barely countered by the Newcastle attack, the former Magpies star was upto the task.

Per Mertesacker (7/10): The experienced German center back displayed great sportsmanship against Newcastle last night. He kept an attentive look on the Newcastle attack. He also hit a superb header at the Magpie’s end; however, it found the crossbar. All in all, his performance on the field was highly impactful.

Kieran Gibbs (7.5/10): The Englishman started at the left as usual. He put up a solid performance with some really steady and comfortable possessions and tackles.

Mathieu Flamini (6/10): Flamini was effectual at the base of the midfield and decent with the ball. Overall an ok game for the Frenchaman.

Danny Welbeck (6.5/10): The English centre forward returned to the field against Newcastle and featured mostly on the left. Apart from the first-half chip being ruled out for a foul, Welbeck put up a good and decent show altogether.

Alexis Sanchez (8.5/10): The Chilean striker has been a consistent performer for the Gunners and last night was no exception. Although, no goal churned out off his boots, he remained the most dangerous player in the squad. His movements were brilliant and skillful. Added to this, Sanchez offered outstanding assists for Cazorla and Giroud.

Santi Cazorla (8.5/10): The Spaniard scored the second and the final of the quadruplet for Arsenal. He has been very creative and seemed dangerous during his possessions. Undoubtedly, a performance par excellence from Cazorla.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain (6.5/10): The young winger put up quite a gratifying show against the Magpies. The Ox seemed good with the ball and looked fine in deep positions as well.

Olivier Giroud (8/10): Giroud provided the initial break through for the Gunners with a majestic header. The 58^th minute cheeky touch which came off his boot resulted the third goal for his team. Although, he seemed to lack involvement from the game at times, the striker’s performance remains unquestionable. Worth an applause!

Substitute:

Lukas Podolski (6.5/10): The German was substituted for Giroud in the second half with almost 20 minutes remaining. Although his appearance was short lived, he did display a noteworthy performance.
