Arsenal go back to the top of the table after securing a comfortable 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, thanks to the brace from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. With this the Gunners have secured 55 points and are 3 points clear of Chelsea and 2 above Manchester City who play each other tomorrow.

Let’s look at the player ratings for the Arsenal stars.

Szczesny: Was called upon rarely by the Palace attackers as even the likes of former Arsenal striker Chamakh stayed back defending their goal. However his save off a header from Jerome was crucial in Arsenal landing yet another clean sheet.

Rating: 3.5/5

Sagna: Well again, not much to defend for the right back, although his runs forward could have been more productive.

Rating: 3/5

Mertesacker: A truly inspirational performance from Arsenal’s BFG. Almost blocked everything that was thrown at him during the course of the 90 minutes.

Rating: 3.5/5

Koscielny: Was equally good alike his center-back partner. The increasing number of clean sheets that Arsenal have managed to accumulate has been impressive and the German-French pair has been the backbone to it.

Rating: 3/5

Monreal: Proved justice to Wenger’s decision to pick him ahead of Gibbs. Defensively the Spaniard was not much troubled, while getting forward is not a problem for the left-back, its his final balls that is lacking at the moment.

Rating: 3/5

Arteta: The Arsenal captain looked to be back to his very best, which means calm and composed passes from the middle of the park.

Rating: 3/5

Oxlade-Chamberlain: One of those days, the youngster will never forget. After spending the first half of the Campaign on the sidelines, the England International has been growing in confidence. A powerful display playing alongside Arteta will do a world of good for his confidence.

Rating: 4/5

Cazorla: Looks like the Spaniard has found his feet very well. After scoring 5 goals in the last 5 games, Cazorla managed to deliver a beautifully waited ball to Chamberlain to open the scoring minutes into the second half.

Rating: 3.5/5

Ozil: Combined effectively with Cazorla and Podolski. Although he had to track back and play from the middle of the park than he usually does, the German finished the job with utmost professionalism.

Rating: 3/5

Podolski: Not the best of the performances from the German, but certainly not his worst. A good run in the first team ahead of Arsenal’s crunch ties in the coming weeks.

Rating: 2.5/5

Giroud: A forgettable match to say the least. Although he managed his usual holdup play to some effect, his first touch let him down completely. Misfired a lot and never really went into goal scoring positions in the first half as Crystal Palace were holding tight.

Rating: 2/5
