Arsenal Or Manchester City? 3 Possible Destinations For Jurgen Klopp

Share

The biggest footballing story of the year is here, Jurgen Klopp, a hero for all that love the underdog’s story has decided to leave Borussia Dortmund, a club that rose from the ashes and won two Bundesliga titles under the noses of their more illustrious and wealthier opponents Bayern Munich. Klopp stated that he had taken the club as far as he could and he would be stepping down at the end of the season.

Jurgen Klopp

This news set social media on fire with rumours coming in as to what would Klopp’s next move be. He has stated that he will not be taking a sabbatical like Pep Guardiola and although he does not have any destination in mind, he probably will be going to a top club. We look at 3 clubs which could be ideal destinations for Klopp.

Manchester City

The bookmakers favourite at the moment, City have capitulated faster than a cardboard box in the rain. Manuel Pelligrini seems to have lost the ability to get the team to perform and with City not even sure of getting Champions League football next season, City’s owners might decide on bringing the younger German to the club.

The only obstacle could be in deciding the team to play, Manchester City’s owners often decide which players come into the club and what will be the direction of the club while Jurgen likes to be more in control, however money should not be a major problem at the club.

Arsenal

Another English club but this one already has a legendary figure as the manager and if there is anyone out there to replace Wenger it could be Klopp. The German is only 47 years old and plays a high-tempo game somewhat similar to what Arsenal can do, although they prefer to keep more of the ball, the pace shown in attack by both clubs is similar.

However, replacing the Frenchman at the club would not be easy since it would only take place if Wenger is comfortable. Klopp though would fit in perfectly in London and could be just the thing to help Arsenal get that Premier League title back.

Real Madrid

They have done it before and they could do it again, Real Madrid have a penchant for sacking managers if they don’t win something every year and with the club out of the Copa Del Rey, behind Barcelona in the League and in a tough battle against Atletico in the Champions League, they could end up empty-handed this season.

Klopp moving to Real might not be the worst move, they could need someone who gets them clicking again but then it will be improbable to see him work under the massive influence of the board that has not been the case at Dortmund.
