Arsenal and Manchester United stars Feature in the Top 3 Goals of the Week

The second week of the Premier League saw some great action with all eyes on the Manchester City vs Chelsea game. Chelsea was absolutely destroyed in the game with Sergio Aguero being the chief nemesis for the team from London. The Argentine opened his account for the season and should have had a few more, had it not been for Asmir Begovic in the Chelsea goal. Christian Benteke also opened his account for Liverpool with a rather controversial goal, but he did help Liverpool get the three points. We look back at another action-packed Premier League and share the top three goals from the game week.

Sergio Aguero vs. Chelsea

Before Aguero scored this sumptuous goal, he could have had a hat-trick. Begovic had to be at his best to keep last season’s top scorer at bay, but he could not keep him out of the limelight for long. A simple move started by David Silva saw the ball being played to the feet of Aguero, a quick one-two with Toure and he had the ball in the penalty box. A couple of touches and he slides it past the Chelsea goalkeeper with little effort. This goal stands out because of Aguero’s composure in the penalty box surrounded by defenders and thanks to the quick touches from the City players.

Adnan Januzaj vs. Aston Villa

The forgotten man at Manchester United provided a timely reminder of what he can do in front of goal. The Belgian scored a brilliant team goal which included a lot of slick passing on the left hand side of the attack. A quick ball played into the feet of Januzaj and he quickly shifted the ball onto his right foot before calmly slotting it into the far corner, away from the goalkeeper. He might have been lucky with a deflection as the ball went in, but there can be no denying the movement and vision to create the opportunity to score.

Olivier Giroud vs. Crystal Palace

There are a few doubts about Giroud’s ability to constantly score goals, but he does have the ability to finish really well. An example of his guile and finesse was displayed against Crystal Palace, the ball was whizzed in from the left by Mesut Ozil and everyone though the cross had too much pace and was behind the Frenchman, but he somehow swivelled and made contact which saw the ball nestle into the goal. It was a sublime finish from a man who is often picked on by supporters, but this goal probably was the best of the game week.
