Arsenal youngster, Wellington Silva, who is out on loan at Second division La Liga side Ponferradina scored his first goal against Villarreal.
The youngster joined Arsenal from Brazilian club Fluminense for a reported £3.5m in the summer of 2010 and and there was a lot of hype surrounding the 19-year-old forward. Since then Silva have only played in a couple of matches, notably against Manchester united reserves and scored on the same day. Since then the player has been loaned out to the likes of Levante, Alcoyano and now Ponferradina. several clubs ing on the same night. is a young Brazilian striker many Arsenal fans will have heard of but very few will have seen him play.
Arsene Wenger was frustrated with the progress of the 19 year old’s work permit and decided to loan out the player for the third consecutive season.
On Thursday evening, after previously playing just 18 minutes of football for Ponferradina in the Spanish second division this season, Wellington Silva scored hit first goal of the campaign.
