Arsenal Latest Including Positive News On Arteta Injury And A Stunning Picture From Manchester City Game

Share

Arsenal have received some positive news on Mikel Arteta as scan results reveal the midfielder will return to training earlier than expected.

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has undergone successful scans and according to reports,  the could return by the end of January, with the Liverpool game an earmarked return for Mikel. The results showed that the calf tear was not as bad as originally thought, with Arsenal fearing the player could be out for over a month. The initial scan indicates the real duration will be just two to three weeks.

Arsenal who suffered a 2-0 loss to Champions City struggled in midfield without the regular services of Arteta. His replacement Abou Diaby who returned to first team action for the first time after a lengthy spell outside the game due to his injuries did not help the Gunners as they were totally outplayed by City. This is indeed a great news for Arsenal and Wenger, with Abou Diaby and Francis Coquelin the only recognized defensive midfielder to replace Arteta and with a fixture list that involves playing with almost every single big name across the country Arsene Wenger will be delighted to hear from the doctors.

Regarding the other injuries and updates ahead of Swansea game, Arsenal will be without Rosicky and Koscielny.

Rosicky is still out,” he told the official site. “He has a little calf problem. I wanted to involve him tomorrow night but it’s too short.”

On Fabianski: He’s the only one injured, along with Arteta now. He’s one more week away from full training I think.

On Arteta: Arteta’s injury could be shorter than three weeks because it’s a minor calf strain. It’s a light grade one so it could be quicker than three weeks.

In other news Koscielny will also miss the game due to his suspension he is serving from the city game.

And here is the stunning picture we promised. Podolski being surrounded by 6 Manchester City players. Diaby is the only man visible in Arsenal colours other than the German.

No way out – Podolski !!
