Arsenal Latest Including Koscielny And Ruben Garcia

If there is one player in the Arsenal team right now who is attracting interest from all over the world with his performance, it is definitely Laurent Koscielny. After being linked with Bayern Munich and Barcelona, Koscielny is now targeted by Napoli boss Rafa Benitez to strengthen his team’s defence.

The former Chelsea manager has observed Koscielny from very close quarters this season when he joined the Premier League taking over as the interim manager of Chelsea from Roberto Di Mateo.

Koscielny, who  joined the Gunners from Lorient in 2010 for a reported fee of £8.45m has since featured in 88 league matches for his club. He has elevated himself from the disastorous Carling cup final to become one of the Premeir League’s most effective centre back and has thus been on the radar of many top clubs of the world. The Bundesliga and European champions Bayern Munich have already expressed desire to include him in their ranks and have reportedly made a bid for him. Spanish giants Barcelona are also on the lookout for quality defenders this season and have made enquiries about Koscielny.

The player is valued to be about £15m by transfermarket.co.uk and it has been suggested that Rafa would only consider moving for him if he can accumulate the estimated £53m he wants for Cavani. Although the transfer season is a long way to go, it looks like that the fight for Koscielny is getting harder and Wenger must pull off some real magic to keep him in the team.

However, latest news from the Gunners camp suggest that the defender is happy to stay and has asked for reassurances that Wenger was going to strengthen the team in the summer transfer market. Koscielny is determined to win silverware during his career and was quoted as saying; “I have the desire to add to my list of honours. I hope the club will give me the means.”

In other news, Arsenal are said to be chasing Levante winger Ruben Garcia, who has stacked up 41 appearances for his club this season. Garcia has also expressed his interest in joining the English side and it is now left for Arsenal to make a bid for him.

Wenger is looking to boost up his attack this summer to a lot extent and the signature of the promising 19 year old may be an indication towards that direction. Arsenal do have the finances this summer to make big money moves and thus the £8.5m release clause of Garcia should not be a problem to trigger the move. If Garcia ends up at the Emirates the next season it should be a step ahead for the club to secure their future and for the player himself.
