Arsenal fans can finally calm their nerves as the current reports suggest that their Spanish sensation Santi Cazorla would snub a move to Atletico Madrid and continue his innings with the London side after reports in Spain suggested that the player was travelling to Spain to make a deal with the La Liga side after his successful debut season with the Gunners.
However, according to the Skysports, it has been reported that the club has nipped in the bud of any such rumours and has displayed their keenness to hold on to their man. This is not the first time though that the player has come close to signing a deal with a Spanish giant, after Real came close to secure a deal for him last season. But it was Arsenal who had the last laugh and Cazorla took no time to prove his worth at the Emirates.
During a recent interview Cazorla stated:“I have three years left on my contract and I have not thought of anything like that. My plan is to continue at the club.”
“Arsenal are treating me very well and I want to win a title with them. In football, you cannot predict the future at any time.”
Quoted by Skysports: Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has denied the club have made moves to sign Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla. “We have no news of Cazorla,” he said. “These are invented stories that are made up every day.” Well, that’s a relief for the Emirates faithful!
Now that Cazorla’s rumours have settled down, fans would be hoping to see some of the promised big name signings sooner rather than later.
In other news, Arsenal along with fellow North Londoners Tottenham, are set to battle it out for the Spanish starlet named Alvaro Vadillo. Vadillo is a Spain Under-20 international, currently plying his trade for La Liga side Real Betis.
His prolific performance for Betis over the past two seasons helped him to get the salutation ‘the new Cristiano Ronaldo’ in a chunk of the Spanish media. The 18-year old lad made his debut for La Liga outfit last December and so far has played only 18 matches. But some of his displays, particularly in the second half of the previous campaign, have really caught the eye.
So it is no wonder that both the London giants are known to be interested in bringing Vadillo to the Premier League for next season, which will delight the fans of the respective clubs. Primarily a Spurs target, Vadillo has also been linked with the Gunners recently.
