Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has now given an update on his squad and the status of the injuries to some of his key players, prior to the big clash against Manchester United. The report suggests that his defensive superstar Laurent Koscielny will not be fit on time to face the Red Devils at the Emirates on Sunday.
The French international was subbed midway through Arsenal’s Champions League clash against Olympiakos with a hamstring problem.
The Gunners’ boss has now clarified the extent of the France international’s injury by saying that it is a strain which will keep him out of action for about three weeks.
He stated, “Laurent Koscielny will certainly be out. He has a hamstring strain and it looks like it will be three weeks, something like that.”
Further, Arsenal will not have their two central mid-fielders, Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta, to turn to if needed, as the pair are out injured as well.
Francis Coquelin is however expected to be fit and should feature against Louis van Gaal’s side.
