The injury to Olivier Giroud meant that Arsenal had to stick with Yaya Sanogo upfront for the goals, but his display against Leicester city last weekend tempted the Arsenal management to reach out for Manchester United outcast Danny Welbeck, who in all possibility is a better striker than the French youngster.
Sanogo, who is yet to score his first competitive goal as an Arsenal striker despite scoring four against Benfica in pre-season has now scored twice for France U21. He has always been on the score sheets and has performed well in the junior levels of the game and maybe he has been promoted to lead the line at Arsenal a bit too soon.
However, here are some of the reactions from the Arsenal fans after his brace for the French U21’s.
