Arsenal Daily: Theo Walcott Contract Talks, Lewis Holtby And More

Share

Theo Walcott:

Theo Walcott’s current contract runs out at the end of the season and it is necessary that Arsenal reach an agreement with the player before it is too late. And according to wenger, contract rebel Theo Walcott is still being pursued by Arsenal to extend contract with the winger. The Arsenal manager has insisted that the club will not give up and will continue their contract negotiations with Theo Walcott.

“I believe he is doing very well,” Wenger told Arsenal’s official website. I haven’t changed my mind on him. I always said I want to keep him and we [will] try to find an agreement. We haven’t found it yet but we’ll continue. He doesn’t play like somebody who wants to go and I don’t behave like somebody who wants him to go because he plays.”

Lewis Holtby:

Could this German International be on his way to Emirates ? The 22 year old Schalke midfielder has been a potential target for Wenger off late. Holtby’s contract ends this season and it is his decision whether to leave in January or for a free transfer next summer. However the player has vowed to make a decision during the German league’s five-week winter break – but it is unlikely Schalke will be able to hold on to him.

Holtby said: “It was a dream to play in the Premier League and it was a team like Arsenal I would like to play for. Holtby’s British father is an Everton fan, which would make moving to the red half of Liverpool a tough decision for the German international.

Mikel Arteta:

The Spaniard is still refusing to give up on his dream of representing his national side. After a long and sussessfull career at Everton, Arteta joined Arsenal last summer in a hope to increase his chances of getting selected to the national team. And yet the 30 year old is still waiting to even been called to join the squad.

The Arsenal midfielder said: “I’ll keep trying and I’ll never lose that desire to have the opportunity to do what the others have done – not only to win things but to win while enjoying your football in that group. I hope that one day I will have the opportunity – even if it’s only for only one day – where I get to play with this group and just enjoy being there.”
