Arsenal: 3 Typical Arsene Wenger Signings Available In The Market

Share

Arsene Wenger really needs a boost in his team to ensure that Arsenal at least finish in the top 4. Currently they are not in the driving seat to ensure that they finish in the top 4 and without Champions League football next season, a lot of players could opt out from the Arsenal.

Arsenal announced the release of Lukas Podolski who has signed with Inter Milan and that leaves a massive void in the team since they don’t really have any good strikers apart from Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud. Everyone also knows about Arsenal’s defensive frailties and here we look at 3 players who have all the attributes preferred by Arsene Wenger – young, talented, relatively unknown, and may come cheap.

1. Virgil Van Dijk

The 23 year old Celtic defender has been one of their best performers over the last 2 seasons and even got a recent call up to the Dutch side. Van Dijk would be a great signing for Wenger who fills in all his criteria of being a young player and someone who will grow better with time.

He can also provide some youth to a defence which has largely older players in the likes of Koscielny and Mertersacker and provide good competition to Calum Chambers as well; moving across the border might be the next thing for the defender.

2. Christoph Kramer

Arsenal need a proper defensive midfielder and Kramer would be a really cheap and good option to fill the void. The World Cup winner who runs out of contract at Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the season has been in a tug of war with many clubs already wanting to sign him and Arsenal can steal a march by bidding for the German.

He is probably one of the best midfielders in Germany right now but a decent bid would be enough to get his parent club’s attention, although Leverkusen might want to get a little bit more since he did win the World Cup with Germany but doesn’t really remember much of it.

3. Nabil Fekir

A relatively unknown player who recently stated that he would only move to Arsenal as he sees his growth would only be ensured under Wenger. Fekir plays for Lyon in the French Ligue and has been excellent alongside Alexandre Lacazette. The French Algerian midfielder is the Ligue 1’s joint 6th highest goal scorer and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder.

His father also believes that Arsenal is the only destination for him apart from Lyon and getting the young midfielder could be a feather in the cap for Arsene and Arsenal.
