Predicted Tottenham Line-up To Face Crystal Palace In The Premier League

Mauricio Pochettino passed his test against European Champions Real Madrid earlier this week, as they managed to put in a solid performance to run away with all three points in the UCL. They are back in action this weekend, in the final game before the international break, and it cannot not get easier, as they welcome a struggling Crystal Palace side to Wembley.

The hoodoo of the home ground for Spurs is surely lifted now and Palace are not expected to even trouble Pochettino’s side but that cannot allow complacency to set in.

Team News

In what could be a major setback for Tottenham, captain Hugo Lloris will be ruled out close to two weeks due to a thigh injury he picked up against Madrid. Defensive mainstay Toby Alderweireld is unlikely to be involved after succumbing to a hamstring injury in the midweek game. Midfielder Victor Wanyama and winger Erik Lamela are confirmed absentees for Spurs.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

GK – Michel Vorm

With Lloris out injured, it is time for Vorm to step up and guard Tottenham’s goal. It is a good chance for him to grab.

RB – Kieran Trippier

Though Aurier has been effective, Trippier has been preferred in the Premier League and the Englishman should keep his place for this game.

CB – Jan Vertonghen

With Alderweireld not fit enough, Vertonghen will have to shoulder more responsibility this weekend.

CB – Davinson Sanchez

The youngster has settled in well under Pochettino and he should partner Vertonghen at the heart of the backline for Spurs.

LB – Ben Davies

Like on the other wing, Pochettino should stick with Davies for this league game, even though Danny Rose is finally fit for first team action.

CM – Eric Dier

The English international put in a solid performance in the midweek and should be used in a midfield role at the weekend, despite him stepping into a defensive role against Real Madrid, after Alderweireld’s injury.

CM – Mousa Dembele

After a productive outing against Madrid, Dembele is expected to start this game. He is crucial to this Spurs team and this might be the right time for Pochettino to hand the Belgian a start.

RW – Christian Eriksen

The scorer of the 3rd goal in the UCL game against Real, Eriksen will be high on confidence and will look to break Palace’s defence with his insane creativity.

CAM – Dele Alli

The hero of the game against Real, Alli has finally shown some form and Pochettino will hope that he gets among the goals in the league as well.

Dele Alli

LW – Heung-min Son

Son Heung-min is another player who is so important to this Tottenham team. He should get to start on the left wing in this possible 4-2-3-1 set-up.

ST – Harry Kane

Having missed out on a goal in the crunch UCL clash, Kane will be raring to take on Palace and will be the danger man to the visitors this weekend.

Here is how Spurs might line up:
