Predicted Leicester City Line-up To Face Tottenham In The Premier League

Leicester City have quite a tough task ahead of them as they get ready to welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the King Power Stadium on Tuesday. Although Spurs have had a couple of disappointing weeks so far, they will be hungry for a win. The Foxes have had mixed results with new manager Claude Puel so far and will come into this game after a 1-1 draw against West Ham.

Puel’s men are placed 12th right now and are relatively far from danger but a win could solidify their chances of a top 10 finish and that is what they will be aiming for.

Team News

Leicester will have to do without the services of Robert Huth and Matty James. Ben Chilwell remains doubtful and might have to undergo a late fitness test to determine whether or not he could feature. Besides them, Puel has no fresh injury concerns and is expected to field a full-strength squad to push for a victory against Spurs.

Possible Leicester City XI To Face Tottenham Hotspur

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Claude Puel

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

Should he start, Schmeichel will hope to maintain a clean sheet after conceding 5 goals in Leicester’s last 3 games.

Danny Simpson (RB)

The previous game against West Ham saw Simpson provide supreme solidity on the right-hand side, making him likely to start against Spurs as well.

Wes Morgan (CB)

Morgan has not been at his best but his display against the Hammers was particularly impressive and it is possible that he could start this game.

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire (CB)

Maguire is likely to join Morgan in the heart of the Leicester defence and the duo will have to be solid enough to ward off the threats posed by Harry Kane.

Christian Fuchs (LB)

Fuchs is expected to complete the defensive line at left-back and his displays have been quite stable so far.

Vincente Iborra (DM)

Iborra continues to impress for the Foxes. He is effortlessly linking the defence with the attack, just like he performed splendidly against West Ham. Hence, Puel is likely to hand him a start.

Wilfred N’didi (DM)

N’didi is expected to join Iborra and the duo will be especially crucial against a team like Tottenham, who have a strong midfield.

Marc Albrighton

Marc Albrighton (LW)

The player was deployed as a central midfielder against Manchester City but he could return to his usual role as a winger in the young Ben Chilwell’s absence.

Riyad Mahrez (CAM)

Mahrez will undoubtedly be a key player for Leicester. He has looked a lot stronger after Puel’s appointment and his creativity will be important for the Foxes against a resilient Spurs defence.

Demarai Gray (RW)

Gray continues to be stable but is yet to do something truly remarkable. The game against Spurs will provide him with ample chances to do so and Puel is expected to start him.

Jamie Vardy (CF)

Vardy’s power up front has weakened a bit in the last few games but he should be looking to get his name back on the scoresheet, on Tuesday.
