Aguero And Jesus To Lead The Attack – Strongest 4-1-4-1 Manchester City Line-Up To Face Watford

Predicted Manchester City Lineup To Face Watford

Manchester City will clash against Walter Mazzarri’s Watford FC at the Vicarage Road in their last game of the season in Premier League on Sunday.

The Citizens have one foot in the UEFA Champions League next season following their 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in the midweek game. A draw or a win on Sunday should confirm their place in the European premiere event next campaign, irrespective of the results of Arsenal and Liverpool. The only way that their place will be in danger is a heavy defeat, which is highly unlikely to happen.

Team News

John Stones is fit again and made a cameo appearance on Tuesday night against the Baggies. Ilkay Gundogan, Claudio Bravo and Fabian Delph will be the absentees for Pep Guardiola.

Probable Manchester City Starting XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Willy Caballero (GK)

With Bravo ruled out, Guardiola doesn’t have the option of changing the goalkeeper and Willy Caballero will start in what could be his last appearance for the club.

Fernandinho (RB)

Has made the right-back spot his own in recent weeks. If he continues like this, the manager may not have to invest heavily on new personnel at this position.

Vincent Kompany (CB)

Since his return, the captain has made the players around him better and as a result, the team is looking much more solid. He is vital to the Manchester City defence.

Nicolas Otamendi (CB)

Has put in several improved performances in the past month or so. Should partner Kompany at the heart of the defence.

Aleksandar Kolarov (LB)

Looks a much better option at left-back than Gael Clichy. Guardiola should persist with the Serbian for the Watford clash.

Yaya Toure (CM)

Unlike Pablo Zabaleta, there has been no announcement made regarding his exit following the expiry of his contract. But if things fail to materialise, this could turn out to be his final game for the Sky Blues.

Kevin De Bruyne (CM)

Scored a screamer against the Baggies and will look to continue in the same vein of form on Sunday afternoon.

David Silva (CM)

Conducts the play for the Citizens with his excellent vision and intelligent movement. Will be a handful for Watford to contend with.

Gabriel Jesus (RW)

Has scored 6 times in 9 league appearances and did an excellent job on the right flank against West Brom in the midweek. Should retain his spot ahead of Raheem Sterling.

Leroy Sane (LW)

The youngster has flourished brilliantly in the second half of the season and is starting to show why Manchester City paid the big bucks to get him. Will look to terrorise a leaky Watford defence.

Sergio Aguero (ST)

Returned to the lineup for the midweek game and put on a great display. Will take his place at the fulcrum of attack for Manchester City.

Here’s how Manchester City could line up:

Raghavendra Goudar

Mechanical Engineer, avid reader and a football fanatic.
